[Well, as someone from the same world, Radley gets the dubious honor of being on Carly's 'calling list' when things like this happen.

And so, she sends in a voice message.] Radley~!

I think I just missed you, ah well. If you've been paying attention to the news, ~Prom~ is coming up! It's a really neat event every time it happens, so I hope I'll see you there!

[Radley has to chuckle in amusement at the message.]

So ... it's a really neat event in spite of all the angry Pokemon, possession, and Team Rocket stealing Pokemon that seem to end up crashing it?

Ooof! Those are all eleventh hour events! And honestly there's enough of us around with Gyms of our own that you can just sit back and enjoy a good show depending on what happens this time around.

Trust me~ These aren't events to miss~!

I say that as someone who experienced the 'Kaiju-pokemon' prom, hehe.

[Radley isn't convinced and thinks he would be fine with missing those kinds of shows. But ... he does worry about his friends. Carly's the only one he's made who has a Gym.]

... That is terrifying. The Pokemon are probably as scared as the people, if not more.

And you'd be exactly right!

Part of the problem wasn't really fighting them, it was more calming them down...either way, no one was seriously hurt- and that's the important part~!

[He's grown weary of the idea that battles solve everything, both in this world and his own.]

Kind of amazing nobody got badly hurt. That sounds like there were some injuries, though....

Mmmm, nothing major; and honestly even saying that is misleading. Over all, other than some cuts and bruises, everyone came out fine!

...I mean the property sure didn't, but we can chalk that one up to weird game logic.

... Well, that's the most important thing.

Do you figure we're trapped in a video game, then? I'd rather think it's another dimension. The Pokemon seem too real to be pixels....

I don't think we're stuck in a literal game, [she quickly insists, before grimacing.] ...There's...people who think a little too much on that point, actually...

But it's definitely a world that's like one! It's as real an 'isekai' as we get!

[Radley quirks an eyebrow.]

How do you think too much on it? Being obsessed with going through it like it's a game and getting out to go home at the end?

[He smirks a bit in amusement.]

I guess we havta be glad we can still be ourselves, instead of plopping into existing characters' lives like we're them.

[Carly is, unfortunately, left to simply sigh with recalled resignation.] I once camped with someone who spent three weeks in the bottom of a cave looking for a wall to clip through, so you'd be surprised how right you are...

[Yikes!] That is a comfort though, isn't it~? And it definitely makes it feel less like...well. A literal game we were put in. It's just a weird version of reality is all!

... Yikes. How did they finally give up?

Yeah, I guess that's probably what it is.

He decided he found nothing and that it was time to move on to the next spot... [She sighs, shaking her head.] I don't think he's fully given up so I keep most of my thoughts about how 'game-like' the rules of the world are to myself around him...

Hi! This is Hunk. Uh... I've been workin' on my menu and I know you had some ideas for dishes. I've got some really basic dishes and some great pun names so far. So, just let me know if you're still up for it!

Awesome! Here are the basics of the menu. [He sends a picture, so Radley can suffer at the punliness.] Maybe we can get together in a little while in Goldenrod or something.

Hey, that's really cute. Everything looks appetizing and the names are clever. I'd be happy to get together.

Radley? It's Kaiba. We've finally made it to Goldenrod, and someone wants to visit you.

[ He'll surely recognize the happy voice of a young Eevee on the other end of the line. ]

Is the café open?

It sure is! Come on over!

[Eevees call out in delight from his end of the conversation.]

[ It's not long before Kaiba arrives, with a small female Eevee tucked in his arm. She's sporting a silvery-blue ribbon on her left ear (his favorite color), and he checks that it's in plalce before he sets her down to greet the other Eevees. She dances around and chirps greetings to them all, but seems to gravitate toward Evie and Evan. They smell familiar!

Kaiba watches this with a little smile, walking over to greet Radley. ]

This is Selene. Like you said, she's the easiest of the young ones I've raised so far. How's business going for you?

[Radley has to smile at the ribbon. He wouldn't have expected something that cute from Seto Kaiba.

Evie and Evan are very happy for the recognition and hurry to their daughter, nuzzling her. Kiryu comes over too, wanting to meet his sister.]

She's beautiful. She looks really happy.

[Radley films the Eevees as they talk.]

Business has been good. People here like the Eevee Cafe set-up, and the Eevees love the extra attention.

[He chuckles.]

[A whole family to play with! Selene's delighted, she'd love to stay for a while. She nuzzles her parents and siblings all in turn, then heads over to Radley and playfully headbutts his leg. Hello to you too. ]

She's fast, too. Every time I turn around she's chasing something else. Do you have any escape artists among yours?

[ He'll sit and watch the Eevees, offering ear skritches to any who come close. ]
